HOLA! WELCOME!
Brenda Luz Orellana is a New York based Latine-Queer director, actor and philanthropist. Raised in Los Angeles CA by both Salvadorian immigrant parents in a vibrant community, Brenda Luz fell in love with community engagement through performing and storytelling. They thrive and root themselves in working on diverse, collaborative stories that exceeds peoples expectation.
Since performing their one-person show, I Am A Rose, they have been a guest artist at California State University Summer Arts, and has been teaching solo performance and acting to young artists. Most recently, they wrote and shot their first short "My Little Tomate" in Hollywood and work-shopped their full length play Sun Kissed Montañas at The Carousel Theatre in Knoxville, TN.
They are also co-founder and Co-Artistic Director of Hear Me Roar Theatre, where they produce and direct staged reading series, create community engagement events, and create professional development opportunities with young BIPOC theatre artists from the South.
When they are not immersed in the arts or philanthropy, you can find Brenda reconnecting with their ancestors Maya Ch’orti tribe as well as teaching volleyball to their youngest sister.
